Job Summary

The Part-time Customer Service Representative will provide an excellent customer service experience for volunteers and staff by helping ensure the council shop is visually appealing, inventory is adequately stocked, and service is provided quickly and efficiently and will support the Retail Manager to ensure the efficient operation of all Council Badge & Sash Stores.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work to support the key priorities of the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta
  • Greet all store guests in a friendly courteous manner and extend to them the best service possible
  • Determine customer needs and suggest resources necessary for their Program level.
  • Must drive sales and contribute to the overall council sales goal
  • Have a good working knowledge of the Girl Scout product line and all products sold in the stores
  • Know where all branch Badge & Sash stores are located and hours of operation
  • Operate (open and close) the branch store during designated operating hours
  • Reconcile the daily, weekly and monthly sales transactions/reports
  • Process/handle special orders accurately and timely.
  • Maintain all planograms and layouts per GSUSA/GSGATL guidelines and keep sales floor neat and orderly
  • Maintain adequate stock levels on sales floor
  • Assist with annual physical inventories in all stores as assigned
  • Must perform all other duties as assigned

Skills & Experience

  • High School graduate with at least two years retail experience
  • Must have basic accounting and cash handling skills
  • Valid drivers’ license and ability to drive Council vehicles
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and work independently.
  • Must be a self-starter and can work without direct supervision.
  • Interpersonal skills (ability to communicate well with all people) and proven decision making skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skill
  • Strong knowledge of Girl Scouting preferred.
  • Ability to operate all store operating systems including but not limited to the store Point of Sale (POS) system, credit card system and telephone system.
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Point of Sale systems and all software related to store operations.
  • Must complete & clear a MVR, Criminal, and Sex Offender background check.
  • Requires the physical mobility to sit or stand for moderate periods of time, able to climb a ladder to retrieve stock and ability carry/or lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
